Luau!!!

I love performing in luau every year-definitely a highlight! Who's to say whether that stems from my life-long love of Polynesia or my deep appreciation for bare chested brown men? Whatever the reason the winters in Utah aren't as gloomy when I have my weekly taste of the islands!
This year's theme was Ke Kinohi Loa-origins of the Pacific. And here are some random shots of me dancing (the glowingly white one in the middle if you weren't sure)...

followed by some of my friends from luau and family. Thanks all for coming-you make it worth it!
Jake drummed for Samoan section-he did awesome!

Friends from luau and pow wow :)

Dawsha, Phil and Jenny, and Lydia all attended (thanks Lyd for your mad camera skills!) along with Sheryl and Kirsten and some of their families. Mahalo and aloha nui loa!

Pi Night!

Some nerdy mathematician probably deserves credit for this delectible holiday in the middle of March. Who else would put together that March 14 is also 3.14, the beginning of Pi?

Whoever it was, he was a genius for giving me the excuse to eat pie and feel really good about it!

So I invited Phil and Jenny, Lydia, and Shelly over and we ate until we had enough sugar in our systems to keep us up another few hours watching The Office, which is even more funny when it's late and I'm on a sugar high :)

So ode to pies both mathematical and sugary and may we be blessed with your continued presense in our lives. Yum!

Smith Family FHE- Let The Craziness Continue!

I've always loved being part of my Smith family, and moving up to Provo when I was in college was so awesome cuz I got to spend even more time with my extended fam. So, when Uncle Glenn and Aunt Connie had the brilliant idea of monthly Smith family FHE's at their house I was thrilled! I have not been disappointed. Spending more time with my crazy fam makes realize how much I love them; and also, how incredibly insane we really all are :)

Typical FHE's include songs, short lessons, and lots of delicious dessert. While we usually spend the lessons interrupting Uncle Glenn by making varioius jabs at eachothers' persons, personality, or generally existence, we do really love spending time together.
And I must admit, I love it when we sing. Most Smiths are born with a natural musical talent. I'm not saying any of us will be the next American Idol, but we harmonize well and it sounds amazing :)

All in all, even though we're completely insane, hopelessly sarcastic, and downright odd my family is the best in the world and I wouldn't trade them for anything!
